September Favourites!

Here are new and rediscovered products I've been using the most frequently during the month of September!

UPDATE: I've also updated my "Favourite Beauty Products" post which can be found by clicking on the link at the side of my profile (under my blog description)

1. Tresemme Heat Tamer Style Spray: This is a rediscovered product of mine. I've had this for years, but it has been neglected/stashed away deep behind other products. I now use this every time I heat style my hair (mainly blow dry). After using this my hair looks a lot healthier and shinier. I don't even need a shine spray! Probably the number one thing about this is the smell. I absolutely love the smell of this stuff. Sometimes I go crazy spraying it cuz it smells so good.

2. Benefit High Beam: This is the perfect highlighter for me. I use it basically everyday, but it only made my favourites this month because I always forget that I use it. It gives my cheeks a perfect glow and mixed with my MUFE HD and Tarte Cheek stain I get AMAZING results/glowing skin!

3. NYX Round Lipstick in "Fig": Probably my favourite pink lipstick EVER. I've been wearing this shade so much lately, that my other NYX haul purchases have been getting neglected/not used at all! I can't say enough good things about it. It lasts forever on my lips without having to reapply (a major plus). I just orderd a backup, among other things, from Today is their last day of 20% off!

4. NYX Megashine Lipgloss in "Smokey Look": I love the colour and the smell of this stuff. It's like putting candy on my lips! If I have a craving for candy I'll just throw this on and it seriously satisfies it! I love candy.

5. Make Up For Ever HD Foundation #125: The perfect every day foundation for my skin. Gives me a medium coverage without looking "cakey". My skin looks amazing in this. Another product that I just recently purchased, but is def. a HG foundation of mine.

6. Tarte Cheek Stain in "Green Siren": Another recent discovery of mine. This gives me the perfect colour to my cheeks. It also gives me a dewy glow (which I love). Pair this with my MUFE HD and High Beam and it's my HG skin routine.

7. NYX Lip Pencil in "Natural":
The perfect colour of lip pencil. Can use it with pretty much anything.

8. Stila Eye Kajal in "Onyx":
A HG liner of mine, but I've been using it a lot this month smudged out with carbon on my upper lash line (where I usually use liquid). I think I'm switching to a liner/shadow liner girl instead of a liquid liner girl now. It's such a soft, sexy look. I love it.

Style Black FOTD#1 - Young Punk

Holy @#$%! 100+ followers! AHHHH. I never thought I'd even get 1 when I first started. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to each and every one of you who decided to follow my blog. I appreciate it more than words can say... so here is my bad ass "young punk" look. I had probably the worst lighting today. I usually like taking pictures in natural lighting because it showcases my makeup better, but it was raining all day today so I couldn't get the best pictures without them being distorted. I look really washed out in some, almost "vampy" which actually turned out good for pictures, but not good to see the actual makeup :(. I also used a bit of gilt by association in the tear duct, but i applied it horribly so please disregard that. Also, "Young Punk" looks sooo much better in person. My eyes were VERY purple and glittery and these pictures don't do it justice. I couldn't get a good shot with my eyes closed, so I didn't include one. I just couldn't get it to look as glittery and amazing in photos as it does in real life. With this said, I hope you enjoy!!!

Revlon Color Stay Foundation in Medium Beige
MAC MSFN in Medium Dark
MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW25
Ben Nye Neutral Set Translucent Powder
MAC Harmony Blush
MAC Peaches Blush
Benefit HighBeam

NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean
MAC Mineralize Eye Shadow in Young Punk (Foiled on lid, dry under eye)
MAC Ricepaper e/s for highlight
L'Oreal Lineur Intense Liquid Liner
Stila Kajal Eye Liner in Onyx
Ardelle #111

MAC "Black Knight" Lipstick

For a more wearable look, I used a peachy nude lipgloss

Style Black Haul + Swatches and Review

September 24th is finally here! THE RELEASE DATE OF STYLE BLACK! As you know I've been sooo pumped about this collection. It is my favourite collection to date (I've been collecting MAC products since January '09). I know that you could purchase the products online for the past couple days, but I wanted to wait to buy them in store. I don't like buying big hauls online because I don't trust the delivery process (things could get broken, products could melt...etc). I ESPECIALLY don't like it because they usually just leave it in front of my door if I'm not home! Hundreds of dollars worth of makeup products sitting in the sun/rain is NOT something that should be done.

I not only bought my own products today, but I also picked up some things for my friend who is in Florida on vacation right now (she got everything I have plus the thermal mask, night violet mattene, and black fire glimmerglass) . Good thing I'm getting her stuff early because the MAC counter where I live only got in like 6 nail polishes! I don't know if they will be getting more. Anyways, here is some swatches and initial thoughts on the collection.

Style Black Haul:

Left to Right: Volcanic Ash Exfoliator, Baby Goth Girl Nail Lacquer, Seriously Hip Nail Laquer, Black Knight Lipstick, Guilt by Association, Cinderfella, Young Punk and Blue Flame MES.

Up close views of products and swatches:

Volcanic Ash Exfoliator
Baby Goth Girl Nail Lacquer
Seriously Hip Nail Lacquer

From Left to Right: Baby Goth Girl, Seriously Hip

Black Knight Lipstick (unlined lips, thrown on quickly)

Left to Right, Top to Bottom: Guilty by Association, Cinderfella, Young Punk, Blue Flame
These swatches don't do the MES justice. They are SOOO much prettier in real life. I just couldn't capture it in film :( Top row is dry, bottom row is wet
From Left to Right: Cinderfella, Guilty By Association, Blue Flame
Young Punk
This is the best picture I could get to show what it looks like in real life. Unfortunately its not the greatest of picture. This IS the prettiest colour I own and probably the prettiest eyeshadow I've ever seen!
Swiped with fingers (dry)
Volcanic Ash Exfoliator: CONS I was interested to see what all the hype is about on this product so I decided to pick one of these up. The MUA at the MAC counter told me to not use white towels with this stuff because it WILL stain them grey. I swatched it on my hand and the texture is tacky and thick and it smells weird. Not bad, weird. I can't say that I'm a fan of the smell. It kinda lingered there for a while too after I washed it off. :S PROS It did leave my skin feeling EXTREMELY soft. I couldn't stop touching my skin. I also liked how the exfoliators weren't harsh. You could barely feel them. I'm use to using St. Ives Apricot Scrub and they have crushed up shells in that and you can feel it exfoliating (not necessarily a good thing for your skin). I also thought it was fun rubbing soot (cuz that's what it looked like) on my face. It was all grey like I was playing with dirt or something. I guess this could be a con to, but I thought it was fun. Would I buy it again? Maybe. It's just another exfoliator to me, however I like knowing that I'm putting volcanic ash on my face! It feels exotic.

Nail Lacquers: PROS Both the colours are AMAZING. Baby Goth Girl is SOOO pretty and Seriously Hip feels so 80's I love it! I'm a big fan of MAC nail polish. I love how you usually only need one coat and that they dry fast and smooth. I wanna order backups! CONS No cons here :D.

Black Knight Lipstick: PROS I was debating about getting this before because I didn't think it would be very wearable (for daily wear that is). However, I've been wearing it around all day and I'm REALLY loving the look! I can't say that my boyfriend is really digging it, but whatever. How I feel in it is what matters and the colour makes me feel so sexy! I think the cremesheen formula is perfect for a black lipstick because it makes your lips so glossy and you can control how opaque you make it. CONS It settles in the lines of your lips, so when you are up close it doesn't look very smooth. Also because of this, it doesn't stay as opaque as I would like it to, thus appearing faded after time and allowing my lips to show through. I'd have to reapply this often to get the look I desire.

Mineralized Eye Shadows: I haven't had time to play with the eyeshadows, but I'm definitely going to use them wet to rim my eyes. Today I had carbon smudged along my lash line for liner so I just put Young Punk over top and I'm in heaven! PROS The colours are phenomenal. Wet or dry I think they are really rich with colour. I heard people saying they only look good wet, but I did swatches on my fingers (dry) and they turned out VERY pigmented (i'll post the photo later, my camera is being difficult) The shadows are also silky smooth to the touch. CON I had a fair bit of fallout just doing the dry swatches of these colours. I even patted them on and everything, but still had some fallout (glitter on my cheeks and under my eyes). With this said, I still absolutely love them and they are def. my favourite part of this collection. I will cry if I ever run out. I hate LE. Check back because I'm going to be doing some looks with these soon!

Halloween is my favourite time of the year!

For a makeup obsessed junkie like I am, Halloween is my favourite time of the year because I get to dress up and do crazy things with my makeup that I normally wouldn't get to do! I just bought my costume online today and I'm sooo excited to get it in the mail! I was planning on making my outfit from scratch, but I figured that would be too time consuming for what I wanted to do. This way, I spent a little bit more money, but I can alter it the way I like. The past few years, my 3 besties and I have been doing themes. This year we will all be superheroes/villians and I get to be POISON IVY! I've ALWAYS wanted to be poison ivy because I thought Uma Thurman's makeup and costumes were AMAZING in the Batman movie she starred in. My other friends will be Wonder Woman, Cat Woman, and Electra. Here is a picture of my costume and the wig I bought to go with it (cuz you gotta be a red head!)

However, I don't think anything will top what we were last year. We dressed as members from the band KISS! Honestly, if you wanna feel what it would feel like to be a celebrity for just one night, get a few of your girlfriends and dress up like KISS. I swear people would stop us on the street, the bus, inside the venue and pictures kept firing off on us. I probably had over a 100 people want a picture with us/take a picture of us! It seriously was the best costume idea ever. People went CRAZY! I had a blast :) We also would have won $1000 if we would have entered the contest *sigh*. Everyone said they would have voted for us. Anyways, here are a few of my fave pics from Halloween Night (we went out like 3 nights in a row!) haha. I'm "The Demon" Gene Simmons (or the short one if you don't know who he is... I'm like 5'7 and considered short next to my friends! I thought I was tall for a girl).

Yes, that is a T-rex skeleton behind us! Someone just walked around in that all night! People go crazy with their costumes for Halloween at this place!

I had my tongue out in a lot of pictures for GENE SIMMONS, but I didn't want to put those ones up cuz it would always take the paint off my face.

Hey Beauties!
I hardly ever wear red lipstick because I think it looks bad on me for some reason. However, I'm feeling a bit romantic today so I thought I'd do my makeup and hair to match my mood! I have the day off and I'm making pasta for dinner for when my man gets home from work. Aren't I a good girlfriend? lol I cleaned the house too, so I'm being very productive. He will probably think I'm up to no good or that I want something... haha But really, I'm just all lovey dovey today. Anyways, here is my FOTD. Let me know what you think of the red lips!

I love how this lipstick makes my teeth look so white! If you don't have the whitest teeth already, sometimes you gotta watch which red you pick because it might just bring out the discolouration of your teeth more! Russian Red has a blue undertone to it so it's great for bringing out the white.
Maybelline Lash Stiletto + L'Oreal Voluminous = LOVEEEEE

ALSO, I find my NEW FAVOURITE LIPSTICK!!!!! It's the colour I've been looking for for some time now. It's perfect. I got it in my NYX haul the other week. It's called "FIG" and it's from the Round Lipstick collection. <3 <3 <3

Revlon Color Stay Foundation in Medium Beige mixed with MAC Face and Body in N5
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Medium/Dark
MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW25
Ben Nye Neutral Set Translucent Powder (under eyes)
TARTE Cheek Stain in "Green Siren"
Benefit Highbeam

"Ivory" from my MAC brow duo all over lid
MAC "Wedge" eyeshadow in the crease
Stila Kajal Eye Liner in ONYX smudged with MAC eyeshadow in Carbon
L'Oreal Lineur Intense Liquid Eye Liner in the corners

Jennifer's Body Movie Review

I like the uncensored trailer better. Click the link to watch that one.

I went to watch this movie this weekend with my girlfriends cuz we love us some Megan Fox. I thought she did a good job at being a possessed demon/killer. Also in the movie was Amanda Seyfried (Mean Girls and Mamma Mia!... two movies with I LOVE) and Adam Brody (O.C.). I absolutely loved the cast, so that set me up for liking this movie. Also, Diablo Cody (Juno) wrote the screenplay for this movie. I loved the dialogue in the movie, I thought it was hilarious. Some people might find it offensive, but I like that she pushes the boundaries. I never liked Juno though, so I'm surprised I liked this movie as much as I did.

With this said, I didn't LOVE this movie, but it was a good watch. I'll probably watch it again when it comes out on dvd. I think I would have liked this movie more if this damn "through the trees" song didn't come on like 10 times. If you seen the movie, you'll know what I mean. But def. check it out if you like Megan Fox and scary movies (I didn't find it scary, just disturbing in some parts).

MAKEUP RELATED: I lovedddd the berry lips she was rocking in this film. Can anyone recommend me a good dupe or a berry lipstick/gloss they like? I NEED ONE! haha I wanna do a FOTD for her makeup in this movie!

My friend got me hooked on True Blood so I'm currently watching the First Season. Here is a Jennifer's Body poster compared to True Blood. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen. haha

My Makeup Collection and Storage

Hey lovelies!
Sorry I've been so neglectful of my blog! I've been meaning to do this post, in particular, for some time now considering I took these pics weeks ago. I would have been blogging more, but I haven't been feeling the greatest. Always when the weather changes I start feeling really lousy and tired. Does anyone else get that way? I definitely need to get back to drinking my green tea in the morning. I need more energy!

Anyways, I always enjoy seeing what other people have in their makeup collections because it gives me ideas so I decided to do a blog on my makeup collection! Yay! It's about 85% of my makeup (I only have some NARS and NYX products missing). I've been going crazy with collecting since January of this year so I think I've obtained quite a lot considering the time frame. I'm kinda slowing down on buying things because I wanna get good use out of my collection! It's hard though because I always see new colours and products I wanna try out (that's the addict in me talking). I hope you all enjoy and maybe you can give me some ideas for colour combos and looks I could achieve with what I have!

I got the case off ebay, but I first saw it on (they have a ton of train cases)

Left e/s palette (left to right, top to bottom): Carbon, Electra, Humid, Stars N' Rockets, Jest, Black Tied, Knight Divine, Sketch, Nocturnelle, Swish, Contrast, Vibrant Grape, Sushi Flower
Right e/s palette (left to right, top to bottom): Vanilla, Wedge, Woodwinked, Naked Lunch, Ricepaper, Expresso, Bronze, All That Glitters, Satin Taupe, Amber Lights
Blush palette (left to right, top to bottom): Harmony, Peaches, Eversun, Pink Swoon, Dolly Mix

Mac brushes: 134, 190, 182, 116, 227, 224, 217, 219, 239, 266

MAC Style Black Collection

I've been obsessing over viewing the available swatches for this collection on and not knowing what I'm going to do with myself when it finally launches. I haven't been collecting MAC products that long and I'm really excited for this collection. Is anyone else excited for this? What are you planning on getting from this collection? In a perfect world here is a list of items I would like to purchase. However, there is just a few products in which I ABSOLUTELY, without question, will be buying.

Young Punk Mineralize Eye Shadow (**FOR SURE**)
Blue Flame Mineralize Eye Shadow (**FOR SURE**)
Cinderfella Mineralize Eye Shadow (**FOR SURE**)
Guilt by Association Mineralize Eye Shadow (**FOR SURE**)
Black Knight l/s (**FOR SURE**)
Night Violet mattene
Bling Black Glimmerglass
Blackware Glimmerglass
Baby Goth Girl Nail Polish (**FOR SURE**)
Volcanic Ash Exfoliator (**FOR SURE**)
Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask

I'll most probably be buying the black lipstick as well just because I think black lips are hot and look chic. What do you think of the black lip trend?

NYX Haul and Swatches! (Pic Heavy)

Hey beauties,
My package from Cherry Culture FINALLY arrived yesterday! It felt like forever since I ordered it, but I guess it really wasn't that long. I'm a VERY impatient person. I hate waiting in general. I wish I was more patient, but that's something I gotta work on. I ordered 18 items from Cherry Culture, all NYX and all lip related products (except for one eyeshadow which I wanted to try before I went crazy and bought a lot more). It cost me $40 US for all these goodies. Does anyone have any favourite NYX lip products or eyeshadows which you think I would like? Let me know because I'm going to be placing another order very soon because I'm in love and I want more!
