NOTD: Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Nail Color in "Quick Sand"

Here's a quick NOTD with Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Nail Color in "07 Quick Sand". I've been really loving this colour! It is similar to a couple other nail polishes I already own by OPI, but is much more affordable. The only downside is the shimmer. I find when I remove this polish the shimmer gets all over the place. It's a bit easier to remove when I use my Seche Vite because I find my polish comes off easier. I really want a peachy, nude beige colour like this, and I thought I found that in Sephora by OPI "Nonfat Soy Half Caff" but it's far too sheer. I also own OPI "Dulce De Leche" but I wish it had more brown/beige tones in it as opposed to pink. I'm still in search for the perfect nude polish! Any suggestions?

  1. Great post! I'm also looking for the perfect nude colour! I have OPI's Tickle My France-y but I find you need to build it up with a lot of coats to get it opaque enough (if you don't it looks like you have dirty nails - atleast to me anyways!) Hopefully someone can suggest something! :)

  2. My favorite nude nail polish is Revlon's Gray Suede. It's an awesome nude with gray undertones. It's one of the better Revlon formulas too, no nasty sheer spots. I can get away with only one coat.

  4. Oh! I've been in search for the perfect nude myself and so far I've tried: OPI Samonan Sand (maybe too sheer for ya! :( ), MAC "Abalone Shell" *but it's limited edition*, Essie "Jazz"(has a hint of grey undertone), Jessica "Creamy Caramel" (my favorite so far!) and Mirage "French Touch". Here are some swatches I made:

  5. Hey Cheryl! My favorite nude nailpolish to this day is still OPI Barefoot in Barcelona. It's got a fairly good pink-toned base, it's a cream-based polish (no shimmer or glitter), and it looks gorgeous against almost any skintone. If you can find it at a Ulta store then you can definitely find it at Target :-)

  8. @YASMINE - I know its bad haha. But i just wanted to post the colour anyways. I'm like a 5 year old when I do my nails. I just wait for the colour on my cuticles to come off in the shower. This was obviously preshower...LOL

  9. (First, sorry for my broken english okay.. lol)
I agree with yasmine, you have to stop painting your nail BEfore the cuticle. A lot of people think that the polish have to be on entire nail : NO, you have to make your nail into your nail.. Uh.. I dont know if it s clear lol (im a nail technician so i give you some tips :) ) there is no reason that you ll cant do it : you do your makeup like a professional :) you can do the same with ur nail im sure.
Kisses Cheryl (Ps i love your blog :))

  10. hehe yeah I was going to point out that the color application wasn't the greatest - get one of those correction pens from Sally Hansen.. it takes away any spills on the skin around the nail :)

    cheers!

  14. The best really nude but still opaque nailpolish is Revlon's Gray Suede. It has a barely noticeable sheen so that it doesn't look flat and it has really pretty gray beigey undertones.
