WEDDING UPDATE: Bachelorette Party in Vegas

Hey Guys!
My Bachelorette party is officially booked for Las Vegas at the end of May. I've never been to Vegas, but am VERY excited to be spending 5 nights there with 4 of my best friends. We decided to stay at Caesars Palace. I want to do everything in Vegas, but here are a few ideas...

Wet Republic @ MGM
PURE Nightclub @ Caesars Palace
Ghost Bar @ The Palms
Cirque Du Soleil KA

I'm not really into gambling so I won't be spending much time in the Casino. I will, however, be seeing all the attractions along the strip (i.e., fountains in front of the Bellagio...etc.) Is there anywhere you recommend to a newbie?

I erased Charles' last name. We are going to have the same initials now! LOL "CK"
Hey Guys!
Sorry I haven't posted often. Someone left a comment on my formspring saying my blog bores them because I don't post often enough. To address my lack of posts, I have a full-time job, house renovations, and my wedding, along with both my brothers weddings, coming up this summer. I have a lot of things going on in my life which are taking time away from my blogging. I do plan on completing all my posts in my "Upcoming Posts" section, but it will take some time to complete. I appreciate all my followers patience and I have not forgot about you!

The past couple weekends I've been working on my Wedding Invitations. I made each invitation myself, even the envelopes have addresses in script. Here is a little taste of what they look like. Hope you all are having a wonderful Easter weekend! I'm off to Charles' parents' forest for an Easter Egg hunt and bonfire!

I was so excited to find sealing wax and a signet stamp. This was my favourite part. LOL

WEDDING UPDATE: Stag and Doe tickets!

Hey Guys!
My bridesmaids are looking after my Stag and Doe, but here is what my Stag and Doe tickets look like (minus the address). Maybe because Bella is so cute it will help us sell tickets ;) LOL
These were ordered off of and are great quality (you can't tell by the photo, but the image shoes up nicer in person and the border is metallic gold)! I highly recommend ordering from ticketmaster if you ever want custom tickets for an event!

The Sunrise on the way into work this morning...Probably one of THE most beautiful sunrises I have EVER seen.
The sky looked like it was on fire. I wish I had my Nikon D90 on me...*sigh*

HAUL: Shoes Shoes Shoes!

Hey Guys!
I went to the mall this weekend with no intention of really buying anything and I ended up purchasing mostly shoes...this is very odd for me since I'm more of a clothing, makeup girl than a shoe girl. Don't get me wrong, I do love shoes, but I'd rather have nothing on my feet (i.e., shoes, socks...etc)! LOL I ended up picking up some everyday ones, and one very impractical heel which I love to death. Hope you enjoy!

Pumas I bought at "Champs". I liked these ones over any other and found out they are youth boys shoes. LOL
I didn't let that deter me because they were also cheaper than adult Pumas! LOL

Black patent pumps from Forever21

Nude Patent Heels from "Payless". I never buy shoes from Payless because I find they always hurt some part of my feet.
These are actually REALLY comfortable.

My favourite purchase of the day. I bought these specifically for my Bachelorette in Vegas.
I just hope I don't break my ankle before my wedding day :S
These make me like 6'0" or more LOL

NOTD: Katy Perry for OPI "Not Like The Movies"

Hey Guys!
Here is a quick swatch of how Katy Perry's "Not Like The Movies" looks on my nails. In different lighting it looks silver, green, or purple so it was hard to get a picture that really captures the true colour because it is ever changing.

Hope you all are having a good weekend, I promise I will be back to a regular posting schedule for the next couple weeks!

NOTD: Katy Perry for OPI "Teenage Dream"

Hey Guys!

Here is the first NOTD for my Katy Perry for OPI nail series. I used two coats of "Teenage Dream" for this look. I really love this colour because it's what I wanted Eyeko "Girlie" to be. I used Seche Vite Base Coat and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat as per usual. I love how long glitter nail polishes stay on the nails, but with this said, it takes a bit of work to get it off.

HAUL: Katy Perry for OPI Nail Polishes

From Left to Right: Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night, Not Like the Movies, One that Got Away

Hey Guys!
I purchased the entire Katy Perry for OPI Nail Polish Collection online back in January when they were first launched and I just received them in the mail last week. I honestly gave up hope of ever receiving them because 3 months of waiting is RIDICULOUS. Regardless, the collection is still out in stores and I figured I would share swatches and NOTDs within the next couple weeks for any of you who are still interested in maybe picking up one of the polishes. The package didn't get to me unharmed though...there was one casuality, which ironically was the Black Shatter nail polish which arrived SHATTERED in the package, black polish EVERYWHERE! I ended up picking up the Black Shatter when I was out at the mall this past weekend because it was the polish I most wanted to try out. All the polishes, minus the Black Shatter, are named after Katy Perry songs. My favourite polish is "One that Got Away".

Have you tried any of the Katy Perry Nail Polishes?

REVIEW: Cover Girl Eyeshadow Quad in "Pure Romance"

Hey Guys!
I hope you are having a good weekend. Here is a quick review on the Cover Girl Eyeshadow Quad in "Pure Romance" I picked up a few weeks ago. In my opinion, the eyeshadows in this quad are not to my standard for quality. The colours ARE soft to the touch and blend fairly easily, but with this said, they are VERY sheer. The quad is nice for a slight pop of colour for during the day that is not too dramatic. I probably wouldn't purchase this quad again because the shadows do not last as long as I would like and aren't overly pigmented. If you have a good base (i.e., Urban Decay Primer Potion or Too Faced Shadow Insurance) than you shouldn't have too much of a problem with longevity. I also bought one of the Wet N' Wild Color Icon Trios which is in the same colour family as this which I still need to test out. I already feel like the quality is going to surpass this one. Have you tried any of the Cover Girl Quads? What are your thoughts?

I used the lightest colour as a highlight, the second lightest on my lid, the next colour in my crease and the darkest colour in my outer 'V' to deepen the crease.

REVIEW: Sigma "Sigmax" High Defininition Synthetic Face Brushes

Hey Guys!
As you all know, I love Sigma brushes. They have become a staple in my everyday makeup routine since I received my first set last year. I'm an avid fan of MAC, especially their brushes, and these are very comparable in quality, design, variety...etc. I've been using these three brushes everyday for over a month now so I feel I can give an honest review of how these brushes live up to what they are designed for.

"Introducing the new Sigmax brush line for high definition, flawless makeup application. The brushes in this collection feature exclusive Sigmax filament, specially designed to apply powder and liquid products without absorption into the fibers. The shape, density and height of the filaments were carefully engineered to perfectly buff products onto the skin, resulting in a high definition effect."

All three brushes are made with synthetic Sigmax HD filament (I'm unsure of exactly what that is). These brushes are like dense duo fibres and are some have some of the softest bristles I have ever used! All three brushes work amazing with liquid and cream products. I don't use these for powder products, even though they are said to apply powder just as well, but I feel they are too dense for proper powder application. I think they work great for blending/buffing out powder after it has been distributed with a different brush (my personal preference).

The F82 Round Top Kabuki brush: simplifies precise makeup application under the eyes and around the nose. This brush is also perfect for achieving flawless coverage using liquid and powder products.
  • I like using this brush for either foundation or cream blush. It works perfectly at buffing in liquid/cream products because of the round, dense design of the brush. I've been using this brush more for creme blushes than for foundation because I prefer the Flat Top Kabuki for foundation application.

The F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush: is perfect for applying and blending liquid, cream, and powder products onto the skin. The flat surface allows perfect buffing with flawless results.
  • I've been using this brush every single day for foundation application. Prior to using this brush I was using my ELF Powder Brush which is dense and has a flat top as well, but it isn't nearly as soft, it is much larger, and it isn't made of the same fibres as the Sigma brush. I find my skin has been looking better lately, and I haven't been using a different foundation, just these brushes. My NARS Sheer Glow works especially well with this brush!

The F84 Angled Top Kabuki brush: is the perfect brush for precise, yet blended application of products on the cheeks. It seamlessly applies cream, powder and liquid products.
  • I love this brush for contouring with my Chanel Bronze Universel! I was having a hard time using my MAC 190 as it would ALWAYS shed and leave hairs in the tub, but this Sigma brush doesn't shed or leave any stray hairs in the product.
I can't say enough good things about these brushes. The Sigma HD Sigmax Brushes are well-crafted, sturdy, and I have had no problems with shedding. These are probably my favourite Sigma brushes I own and I have both the Complete Kit and the Professional Kit. The price of these brushes is reasonable. For $42 you get 3 well-crafted, durable brushes. You can buy these brushes or browse Sigma's Website by clicking here.

Disclaimer: I am a Sigma Affiliate. These brushes were sent to me for review. As always, these are my honest opinions.

REVIEW: Too Faced Naked Eye Soft & Sexy Eyeshadow Collection

Hey Guys!
This is one of the gifts I got for my birthday last week. The only product I've ever tried from Too Faced Cosmetics is their Shadow Insurance, which I love. Too Faced also has a few other eyeshadow palettes to choose from, such as the "Neutral Palette", "Romantic Palette", and "Smokey Eye Palette". I wanted the "Naked" Palette because the colours appealed to me more than the others. Though it is called "Naked", it has much different colours than Urban Decay's Naked Palette, which I also own and have reviewed here.

"Looking like you rolled out of bed flawless and fabulous is a celebrity secret and one that careers have been built on! Now, you too can look like you were "born perfect" with my Naked Eye kit. Sheer matte shadows and soft shimmers offer the perfect balance and variety for every skin tone. This palette of naturally nude shadows will have you looking super neutral yet drop dead gorgeous for any occasion. Nobody needs to know you didn't wake up that way."
- Jerrod Blandino, Too Faced Founder

A shelf slides out at the bottom to reveal and applicator. I never use applicators that come with products as I much prefer my own brushes, so I can't tell you how good this tool works, but I'll try it out and update this post later.

Three cards come with the palette which are tools to help you recreate three different looks: Day, Classic, and Fashion. I have yet to recreate one of the looks, but I will post an FOTD on at least one of the cards and let you know how helpful I find them.

The eyeshadows are very soft and pigmented. As far as matte black shadows go, Stiletto could be a little bit more pigmented, but can be built up to a nice dark black. I've been using Stiletto to set my eyeshadow instead of MAC Carbon and I find it much darker. My favourite eyeshadow is "Birthday Suit" and I actually ended up wearing it to my birthday dinner with friends last night!

March Favourites!

Hey Guys!
I didn't have too many new favourites this month since I've been using a lot of old products...I know April will be huge as I purchased a lot of new things at the end of March which I love, but need to use a bit longer to make sure they are "favourites" worthy.

Scott Barnes for Motives Cosmetics "The Present": I have a full review on this here. In short, it is perfect for travel and the quality of cosmetics is excellent! I especially love the light beige matte eyeshadow which I've been using almost every day as a highlight/all over lid colour as well as the translucent powder to set my makeup.

Sigma F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki: I've been using this everyday for my foundation and it works perfectly at buffing in my NARS Sheer Glow. I've been liking more dense brushes for applying foundation as opposed to my trustee MAC 187 Duo Fibre as they provide a better, more even/flawless coverage. I will be having a full review on this brush, as well as other Sigma HD Brushes in the next week or so.

Origins VitaZing Moisturizer SPF15: This is my new daytime HG moisturizer. I've been wearing foundation much less since I've found this moisturizer. I also like using this and then applying my foundation. I can't say enough good things about this moisturizer. For a full review, click here.

Make Up For Ever Waterproof Brow Corrector #3: I've been neglecting this lately since I found the ELF Brow Kit, but now I am back to using this and it is definitely my HG brow product. I haven't even made a dent in this tube and I've used it almost everyday since I purchased it (except for when I was on my ELF Brow Kit kick...LOL).

MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC20: I bought this earlier in the month because I had a breakout from my MAC Pro Longwear Foundation. This is perfect for covering blemishes and is my HG Concealer for under eyes as well (except I use NW25). I don't understand why MAC doesn't carry an NC25 in this concealer... I thought that was a popular colour?

MAC Mighty Aphrodite Blush: I bought this when the MAC Wonder Woman Collection first came out, but haven't used it much because I was hooked on the Pink Power MSF. Everyday I wore this blush last week I got a complement on how I looked...I attribute it to this blush! LOL It gives my cheeks the perfect glow/colour. Just before taking this photo I accidently dropped the blush! I've never broken ANY of my makeup before (this is such a big surprise to me) and it saddens me to look at the small chip in the side of the blush. *sigh*. Have you ever broken a makeup product you love?!
