Leaving for my Bachelorette in Vegas!

I don't think I could have better weather!

Hey Guys!
Just wanted to quickly let you know that I won't be posting at all this week, and well into next because I am leaving tomorrow for Las Vegas for my Bachelorette with my besties. Hope you all have a wonderful week! I will definitely be doing a post or two about my trip when I come back :)

Canon Powershot SD1400IS - With Flash

Hey Guys!
Here is my Chanel FOTD that I promised to post. I hope you enjoy! I used two different cameras, but some pictures I look washed out even though I am quite tan at the moment. I'll let you know the camera and settings I used in each picture in case you are interested. I find its hard to take good makeup pictures, especially when there is poor natural lighting outside (which there was the day I took these photos). I did a classic silver and black smokey eye because I've been testing out different looks for when I go to Vegas in 5 days! I think I'll be wearing this particular look with a black dress on one of our nights out.

I never use a flash when taking pictures, but this time I did and my makeup looks true to life, especially my skin colour. The Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua has an SPF10 and it didn't white cast my photos! I love this foundation!

HAUL + (mini) REVIEW: CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua, Vitalumiere Eclat, Soleil Tan De Chanel Fluid

Hey Guys!
I've ALWAYS wanted to try more Chanel makeup products. I purchased Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronze Universel last summer, and this weekend I ended up picking up three more items to add to my much loved, but limited, Chanel makeup collection: Vitalumiere Aqua, Vitalumiere Eclat, and Soleil Tan De Chanel Sheer Illuminating Fluid.

I did my makeup this weekend with all my new, and old, Chanel products and I must say my skin looked AMAZING. In fact, my skin appeared so glowy and perfect I couldn't stop looking at it! LOL I've been an avid fan of NARS Sheer Glow, and I still love that foundation, but sometimes I find even that can be a bit too heavy on my skin. All of the Chanel makeup I've tried feels so clean and light that it makes me feel good about using it on my skin. My skin was extremely smooth as well. I also love the scent Chanel makeup has. I've probably unscrewed my Bronze Universel from time to time just to smell it, and these products smell just as good. LOL I will be posting a FOTD using all my Chanel products in the next day or two. I would like to wear it a few more times before I call this face routine HG...though it's looking to be HG in the making!

CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua
Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup

Price: $48 CAD
Shade: B30 Beige-Sable

At the moment my skin is more on the B40 side, but that's because I recently self-tanned. I decided to get B30 in the foundation because I stay around that colour more often than not. However, I decided to get a powder that was a shade darker so that when I am tan, it most likely will be mid-summer and I can use the powder to darker my foundation/blot. I did this combo yesterday and REALLY loved the outcome!

CHANEL Vitalumiere Eclat
Comfort Radiance Compact Makeup

Price: $75 CAD
Shade: B40 Beige - Desert

The compact is a bit pricey at first, which always deterred me from buying it. I avoid powder foundations because adding powder to my dry skin, typically, accentuates dryness and I have to load the Fix+ after just to fix the "powdery" look. This compact does not do that all. You can either use the brush inside for a light dusting of product, or you can use the sponge for more coverage. I like using the sponge to apply the powder after I used my Vitalumiere Aqua, and for touch ups I'll use the brush that came with the product.

Soleil Tan De Chanel
Sheer Illuminating Fluid

Price: $51 CAD
Shade: Sunkissed

I didn't go to the Chanel counter with intentions of buying this product at all. In fact I never heard about it or did any research prior to buying it (which is really rare for me because I typically don't drop $50 without knowing FOR SURE I will probably like the product). The makeup artist put this on my cheeks as a highlight and my skin had a very subtle, natural glow. You can use this product all over your face if you like, but I will just be using it on my cheeks and as a highlight. The shimmer is VERY fine so you won't look like a disco ball, trust me! The only thing I dislike about this product is the packaging. I have to smack the bottle off my hand to get any product out. I guess the flow will be easier once I use a little more product, since it is packed full at the moment. Below is a swatch of how the product looks blended out on my hand! It's so beautiful, perfect for summer and I will be using this daily for sure!

What are some of your favourite Chanel products?
Stay tuned for my Chanel FOTD below!

REVIEW: NuMe 25-13mm Reverse Curling Wand

Hey Guys!
NuMe is a professional brand of styling tools originally from Europe that just launched in the United States. NuMe carries a full line of flat irons, curling wands, blow dryers and hair products. I was contacted by a representative of NuMe Professional Styling Tools to review a product of my choice. I ended up picking the 25-13mm Reverse Curling Wand as I've been always interested in trying a curling wand, but have yet to purchase one.

About the NuMe 25-13mm Reverse Curling Wand

"Have you ever wanted perfect frizz-free curls? Or maybe you've pined for seductive 40s wave, mermaid cascades or just some added volume to your locks. Now you can create the texture you want - without the hefty hairdresser bill. Create the new you.

The NuMe Curling Wand uses our signature negative ion technology to get you the lasting look you want, quickly and without the damage of conventional irons and curlers."

  • Heats up to 210 C/410 F
  • Tourmaline-infused ceramic wand
  • Infrared heat technology
  • Ergonomic design
  • Heat-resistant glove
  • Dual voltage
Review: Hot tools are something I'm willing to spend a bit more money on because typically, I hot style my hair every day (whether it be curling, straightening, or blow drying) and this can be quite damaging if the tools you are using are of low quality. I use to wrap individual strands of hair around my barrel curling iron, you can see my tutorial by clicking here, until I received this in the mail. I'm not exaggerating, but this curling wand can curl my ENTIRE head of hair in under 10 minutes. Before, it took me at least 20-30 minutes to curl my hair so I rarely took the time to do it. I can wrap a small or large section of hair around the wand and leave each piece on for 3-5 seconds and it comes out perfect. It is almost instant that my hair is curled as soon as it wraps around the wand. With this said, the wand gets pretty hot, 210 C/410 F, and there is no gauge to control how high you want the heat to go. Also, there is no indicator, besides the switch, that the wand is on. It would be nice if there was a light of some sort to indicate that the wand is on and HOT! Since the wand is so hot, there is a potential to burn yourself. NuMe created a heat resistant glove which you can wear while curling your hair since it is quite easy to burn yourself, whether by the wand or a hot strand of hair. I definitely recommend using the glove because if you aren't careful you will burn yourself (I burnt my thumb when I was being careless). My curls last ALL DAY with this iron, I'm VERY impressed! This is my favourite hot tool I own and I have been using it daily since it is so quick and effortless to use.

The reverse curling wand retails for $200 US and can be purchased online at

Disclaimer: I was sent this curling wand to review. I am not getting paid to write this review. These are my honest opinions as always.

Past Couple Weekends in Pictures + FOTDs [[PIC HEAVY!]]

My favourite Ninja Turtle is Donatello
Hey Guys!
Here is a little update on what I've been doing w/ my life/makeup! Life has been has been BORING! LOL

First of all, I went to see UFC 129 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto last weekend. It was so much fun! I went with Charles and a few friends from work. We had pretty decent seats and the energy in that place was CRAZY! Mixed Martial Arts has been legal in the US and other countries for some time now, and up until recently, Canadians could only go see UFC in Montreal. This was the FIRST UFC EVER in Ontario and I'm very fortunate to score tickets. 55,000 fans at the Rogers Centre was record breaking...definitely a night I won't soon forget!

Main Event: George St. Pierre vs. Jake Shields

Secondly, all I have been doing lately is working. Like my reflective shirt? haha It even has my name on it! This is basically the look I've been doing practically every day for the past couple weeks. I haven't been too creative lately and haven't had time to post any FOTDs.

MAC Naked Pigment
MAC Soba e/s
MAC Romp e/s
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in "Zero"
MAC Carbon e/s
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion

I've been changing this up...
I've been using MAC Creme Cup, High Tea, Ever Hip, Jazzed, and Hue a lot...

Thirdly, I went to my oldest brother's Stag and Doe this weekend. It was a lot of fun. I actually won a couple raffle prizes! I'm so proud of myself because I never win anything. I got a gift card to the Keg and a movie package for 2. This weekend I've been really bad for my diet, but prior to this weekend I have lost a little bit of weight. I'm not sure if you will notice from the pictures, but I'm slowly getting to my personal goal weight (only 8 more pounds to go!)

Charles and I getting ready to arm wrestle to see who buys the next round of drinks.
I gave it my all even though I knew I had no shot. He didn't even break a sweat haha

Lastly, I went to my friends hometown 2.5 hours away to visit her and her family. This was my first time this far East and this town had a very unusual house...I had to stop and take pictures because it creeped me out so bad...

...Yup, those are mannequin heads sitting in the bush. They not only face the road, but they face inwards towards the homeowners yard. Is this not the creepiest thing you have ever seen?! LOL

Hope you all have a wonderful mothers day! I bought my mom some flowers and took her out for breakfast. We also picked out a beautiful mother of the bride dress for my wedding! It was a great day :)
