Voluminous Hair using Hot Rollers

Hey Guys!

A couple months ago I did a review on the BaByliss PRO Nano Titanium 12 Jumbo Roller Hair Setter and I decided that I would film a hair tutorial showing you exactly how I use and style my hair using the same set of hot rollers. This is such a quick and easy way to style your hair and it turns out great every time. I hope you guys find this tutorial helpful and definitely check out hot rollers if you have yet to try them since they are so fast and easy to use, you can't go wrong with purchasing a set.

Also a little update.

I just got back from vacation and plan on getting back into writing more posts along with the videos I've been working on. Sorry I've been MIA, but I have big plans for my blog and YouTube channel this year and can't wait to share with you all the new products I have discovered. Hope you all had a great Christmas and are enjoying your holidays. This will be my last post until the new year.

If you are looking for something different in terms of makeup to do for New Years, here is a colourful look that will be great to try for a new years eve party.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2012 Inspired Makeup Tutorial!

Hey Guys!
I'm sure many of you know, tonight airs the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show! Every year, Victoria's Secret puts on a show for the holidays with all the beautiful angels looking fabulous in lingerie, bras and panties. I've never actually watched one of the shows, but always have seen highlights and have checked out videos on hair and makeup tutorials from each years show. I love the "Victoria's Secret look" with big voluminous soft curls and natural, bronze, glowing makeup. The show always gets taped a month or so early so there are always lots of behind-the-scenes images floating around the internet prior to the show airing.

This year I decided to check out what the makeup was going to be and recreate a tutorial inspired from photos for you guys! I hope you enjoy this tutorial as much as I enjoyed filming it.

Less is More - Simple, Everyday Makeup

I've been loving this simple makeup look so much that I decided to update my homepage banner!
Hey Guys!
Lately I've been in a makeup rut, really busy and haven't had the time to experiment too much with my makeup. However, I've been loving this simple eye and face makeup and playing up my lips in a variety of different shades. Most of the time I don't even wear a blush, but I thought Tarina Tarantino Parasol blush would look really good with my lip combo. This takes me all of 5 minutes to do and with some corner lashes to accent my eyes, it is a beautiful, yet simple look. I really need to buy a full size of the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin because I've pretty much used every last drop of the sample I have. Has anyone tried Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden or Greed? I was thinking about picking up those as well when I purchase Sin. Let me know if you have used and like either of those!

ALSO, I will be filming a video answering a bunch of your questions. I will focus on questions that get asked multiple times, but will try to get through as many as possible. It has been requested that I share a little bit about myself so I decided to dedicate a whole video to just that. Black Friday Shopping

Hey Guys!
I ended up doing some online shopping on Black Friday and decided to take some screen shots of my orders. Once I receive everything in the mail I will be doing a collective haul video as I have been doing a ton of shopping in preparation for Christmas and for my vacation next month. For those of you who don't know, I will be going to Cancun for a week with my husband. I wanted to get some new clothes for my trip and a lot of the clothes I wanted were already on sale, but I decided to wait until Black Friday to see if there was a discount and I'm so happy I waited because there WAS tons of discounts and I picked up a bunch of my sale items at a discount!

Nasty Gal

Nasty Gal is one of my favourite sites to shop at, if not my favourite. They have great brands and they are Canadian friendly. You never have to pay for shipping if you by only $50 worth of product. A lot of sites you have to buy a lot more product to get free shipping. Typically I refuse to place an order, this goes for anywhere, if I have to pay shipping. Anyways, Nasty Gal was offering 25% off shoes! I remember a couple weeks ago I was going to buy the Jeffrey Campbell Spiked Litas since they were 50% off, but ended up passing. I'm glad I waited because there was an extra 25% off of the already fantastic 50% off! As you can see, I ended up getting my new litas for $70 CAD. This was probably one of the best deals I scored. I also picked up a romper that was on sale because I thought it would look cute on vacation. Also, I picked up a very hippie inspired top which I plan on wearing to the beach. Can't wait to receive this order in the mail!

Karmaloop always has an excellent Black Friday sale. I believe last year I also placed an order. Unfortunately with Karmaloop, I have to pay boarder fees because they ship with DHL which comes straight to my door. I always take this into consideration before placing an order. The more you spent Black Friday, the more percent you got off your order. I ended up going for the buy $75, get 20% off. I had another pair of shorts in my cart, but they sold out in my size before I was able to place my order. They were my least wanted item so it wasn't too big of a deal. I've been eyeing both of these items for a while now. The ring wasn't on sale, but I did get 20% off at checkout. The shorts are probably one of the items I'm most excited for. Typically I wear a size 27 pants, but I ended up with a 29 in shorts because I have thick thighs and when I buy shorts I have to go up a couple sizes just so my thighs don't look "choked" lol. If they are too big, I will wear a belt, but I think I'll be fine. The shorts were normally $86, but they were 38% off, PLUS the additional 20%. You may notice I have a lot of "tye dye"/"hippie" inspired clothing in my orders. I don't know what it is, I'm just into the bright, colourful look at the moment and think it will look great in Mexico.

Use REP CODE: CHERYL for an additional 1% off at checkout!

I kept hearing about this site Tobi from many of my fellow vloggers, so I decided to check it out. Currently they have a 40% off promotion going on, but if you are a new member, you can get 50% off your first order (which is what I did). Tobi has designer brands at a discount, PLUS the 50% discount is a great bargain (some brands are not discounted). I placed a fairly large order. I'm not going to go through everything I purchased, but I picked up a lot of rings (knuckle rings), a pair of wedge sneakers (FINALLY), and a few tops for my vacation. This was my first time ordering off of Tobi, but I can see it becoming a new favourite site of mine. I noticed some of the Nasty Gal models were featured on this site as well, so I know the clothing they have is right up my alley.

My coupon code won't work for you. You will have to join the site to become a member and then they will send you your own unique code to use on your first order!

I think I may also place an order on Sun Labs for some more tanning lotion because they currently have 50% off of everything. I still have to pay shipping and duty to Canada, so I keep debating not doing it, but I think I may suck it up and just place an order anyways because 50% off Sun is a great bargain.

If you went Black Friday shopping, what was the best deal/favourite purchase you made?

Toronto IMATS 2012 Experience + Haul

Hey Guys!
This past weekend, Saturday, November 17th to be exact, I had the pleasure of attending Toronto IMATS as press. I ended up getting a press pass with my name and blog on it, which I thought was pretty cool, and was able to by-pass the long registration line in the morning and go to both days for free. Saturday started bright and early at 8:30 am and I strolled in around 8:45 am. I only ended up going the Saturday, but next year I think I will stay both days since I missed out on meeting a few of my lovely subscribers.

Thank you to everyone who came up to say Hi! I had such an amazing time talking to you all and it made me feel so special to be recognized. The day was truly unforgettable. I also had the privilege to meet several of my fellow bloggers/vloggers who I have been following for quite some time and had such a great time finally talking to them in person. I ended up picking up products from MAC (obviously), Make Up For Ever, Eve Pearl and Graftobian. If you are interested in seeing specifically what I picked up, I filmed a haul video for my YouTube channel (linked below).

For those of you who don't know what IMATS is, it is the International Makeup Artist Trade Show. There are booths from various different brands of makeup, many of which are selling their product at a discounted price! You can imagine how busy Saturday was with people stocking up on their favourite makeup brands at a discount. The craziest booth was Make Up For Ever because they had one of the best sales going on. With a little patience, I was able to snag all the products I wanted which were available at the show. I had a HUGE list for MAC, but they were only carrying PRO products only so that cut my list substantially.

Along with discounted makeup, there were also presentations from leading makeup artists in the industry. I ended up staying for the Make Up For Ever and MAC presentations. It was also interesting to watch the student competition take place. In the middle of the convention hall were a group of students and their models which they were working on to create some pretty amazing transformations. I ended up taking some photos right at the beginning and near the end to show you the progression.
