Favourite Mascara Combo at the Moment

Hey Guys!
I just wanted to share with you my favourite mascara combination at the moment. As you know, I love Cover Girl Lash Perfection Mascara (click here for review) and I use to use L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara religiously until I forgot about it and randomly started trying every new mascara known to man. Recently, I got back into using my L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara and I can see why I loved it so much. It gives thick, DARK lashes. I really love the separation that CG Lash Perfection gives, along with length and volume, but L'Oreal Voluminous makes my lashes extra thick and darker. I've been loving using a coat CG Lash Perfection and then a coat of L'Oreal Voluminous for extra volume and colour. In the pictures my lashes are a tad on the clumpy side, but I'm in need of replacing both mascaras soon. Generally, I do like my lashes to be on the clumpier side, yet separated. It's a personal preference. Here are some pictures of both the mascaras combined:

Do you combine mascaras? If so, what's your favourite combination?!

  1. I have been doing this lately! I have been using the Buxom Mascara, and because it's so light weight, I have been using Loreal Telescopic with it!

  3. My combo is Loreal voluminous million lashes first to separate, then original voluminous to add volume. I have been doing this for a few months and been loving it!

    1. I should try that because I didn't have much luck using Million Lashes alone (only for my bottom lashes). Thanks for the idea!

  4. I too recently rediscovered how much I like Voluminous! I was using Maybelline mascaras like crazy and then tried this again after straying for a couple years but am feelin regretful for not going back sooner! Huge lashes! Is this the waterproof formula you use? Thanks!

    1. I just use the regular. I don't like waterproof mascaras. I find them impossible to remove lol

  7. I wish I could wear Voluminous! I swear I must be the only person who doesn't love it - it flakes like mad on me. Too bad too, one of my all time favourites from L'Oreal was Lash Out, but it is disco'd.

So currently, loving Maybelline Last Stiletto with a layer of Falsies on top.

    1. I only have a problem with it transferring on my eyeshadow. I don't know why but it goes EVERYWHERE if I'm not extremely careful. I think because the formula is so wet. I have tried the L'Oreal Million Lashes and hated it. The only use I found for it was on my bottom lashes, but really...I'm not going to buy a mascara just for my bottom lashes. Have you had success with it?

  11. Cheryl -

Thats so funny, that is exactly what I do! Best combination ever - even though I am a bigger fan of the L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara (besides the separation issue.)

I've been a long time follower of yours! This is the first post/comment I've made. Keep up the great work hun! As an esthetician and makeup artist I am impressed with all your knowledge and talent!

  12. Hey Cheryl. I just wanted to tell you that I love your blog. You are gorgeous. I was wondering if you could possibly do a video on your make up from Saturday Clubbing from January 30. I really liked that look. Would love if you could do a tutorial. Thanks. :)

    2. Thank you so much Brandy! <3 I will definitely film a clubbing makeup tutorial. I typically just do the brown like you saw in that post. Currently I just filmed a purple eyeshadow tutorial and a brow tutorial so those will be up first, once I get around to editing them lol

    1. I honestly don't remember what I used :( I think I had MAC Pro Longwear Foundation in NC25 and possibly the Phyicians Formula Matchmaster bronzer, but I can't be quite sure. usually I write this stuff down, but I just did a quick post. Sorry!

  16. Im the same way. I do like to have my lashes a tad clumpy, but not the ugly way LOL! Right now im using covergirl lashblast Luxe. I think it gets every lash and gives them a full look. But the one I love is actually a urban decay one that came with the book of shadows. I cant remember the name :(

  20. I use L'Oreal's extra-volume collagene for seperation and volume, and then several coats of Maxfactors false lash effect to make them longer and darker. The lashes look soooo dreamy and full, and never clumpy!
