MAC Viva Glam Nicki 2 Review, Photos, Swatches and How to Make it More Wearable!

Hey Guys!

I recently picked up MAC Viva Glam Nicki 2. I never intended to buy Nicki 2 because after seeing the colour, I new I would never wear it and it just wasn't my thing...UNTIL...I went to my local MAC counter and the MUA showed me how she paired Nicki 2 on top of Magenta lip pencil. I instantly fell in love and had to buy both Viva Glam Nicki 2 and Magenta lip pencil. Those MAC MUA really know how to sell their product!

"Embrace Nicki's colourful style with her new limited-edition shade of VIVA GLAM Nicki 2. It's a vivid pastel lavender pink, with a subtle sexiness and satin finish that's so Nicki. Every cent of the selling price goes toward helping women, men and children, living with and affected by HIV/AIDS." - www.maccosmetics.com

MAC Viva Glam Nicki 2 is described described as a pastel lavender pink with an amplified finish. Alone, the lipstick looks terrible on my skintone, let's be honest here. In my opinion, you have to either have very pale skin or be Nicki Minaj to rock this colour! Of course if you have the confidence to wear it, then by all means, go for it. For those of us who aren't as brave to rock such a crazy colour on its own, pairing Nicki 2 with Magenta lip pencil will darken up the lipstick enough to make it more wearable.

I'm a big fan of purple lips and have been for years. I don't wear purple as much as I should but I really like how it compliments my skintone and eye colour. I am really happy with the formula and finish. The lipstick does not dry out my lips and is long wearing.

  2. I definitely agree those MAC MUA's know how to sell products! It's the only reason I bought the VivaGlam Nicki 2 lipglass! I like how you made this work but I definitely don't think it's something I'll pick up. I don't think I could pull it off even with the magenta lipliner underneath!

  3. That is a good mix. I've been avoiding it because it looks too Lime Crime/Gyaru for me...but the mix of Magenta and Nicki2 is really pretty...Like if Daddy's Little Girl and Lavender Whip had a baby.

  9. The combination of lip pencil and lipstick on your lips looks gorgeous. There's no way I'd wear the lipstick on its own though x x

  12. You know, I saw you wearing this colour and I was like omg it looks great, I wanna buy it! Then I saw the swatches of it on other peoples lips and I'm like uh.. thats slightly unattractive!! lol... you really do have to be super pale/nicki minaj to wear it! But I love how you've paired it with another colour underneath, it works so well!
