LUSH Eau Roma Water Toner Water Review

Soothing herbal toner.
"Dry, sensitive or mature needs a gentle touch. In a world of 'technology' loaded cosmetics, using a toner with only two active ingredients may seem unusual. But at LUSH, we believe in using effective ingredients instead of filler. Our most moisturizing toner, Eau Roma relies on the King and Queen of the essential oils world, rose and lavender. Both oils have been used for thousands of years to treat dryness, redness or irritation. Rose is particularly nourishing and cooling, while lavender helps your skin produce the right amount sebum (oil) to keep it suppler. Simplicity at its best." - www.lush.ca

  • Soothing for dry skin: Moisturizing and soothing for dry, sensitive or mature skin.
  • Stuck on an airplane, near a heater or air conditioner?: Eau Roma helps restore parched skin.
  • Fresh rose water: Rose helps retain moisture and is mildly astringent, which evens skin tone and improves its appearance.
How to Use: Spritz directly on the face after cleansing and use a cotton pad to remove any excess cleanser. To tighten pores, let the toner air dry. Follow with the moisturizer most appropriate for your skin's needs. Facial toners also help combat the drying effects of airplane travel and air-conditioned offices. Give yourself a spritz or two on your next flight or at work, you'll know what we mean.

Fresh Ingredients: Lavender Water (Lavendula hybrida), Rose Water (Rosa centifolia), Limonene, Linalool, Perfume, Methylparaben

Review: As soon as I read the label on this toner I thought it was made for me: "…helps hydrate dry, sensitive and mature skin without causing it to overreact." Most toners dry out my skin and leave it feeling tight; this one does not. I like to spray this all over my face and take a cotton round to remove any excess moisture. My skin is left feeling soft, not dry or tight in the slightest, and it does help remove any residue makeup leftover from cleansing. Since I've been using my Clarisonic with my LUSH 9 to 5 cleanser, I don't find there to be much, if any, residue makeup after cleansing. If I just use a cleanser and then this toner, I will find some makeup on the pad so I know this does help remove excess makeup. I really like this toner, but I feel it is overpriced for what it is. This is my second time repurchasing this, and I would repurchase again, but I feel as though I could easily make this at home with some Rose and Lavender water, without any added parabens. If you would like to try this product, I would suggest buying the smaller size first, which I did, just to make sure you like it. It is gentle and effective and a great toner for those with sensitive, dry, or mature skin and is lightly scented.

LUSH 9 to 5 Facial Cleansing Lotion Review

Creamy dove orchid cleanser.
I started using LUSH skincare as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I wanted products that were as natural and organic as possible, thus being safe for baby. There are lots of ingredients in skincare products you should avoid when pregnant, Retinol being one of them, and I wanted to be sure my skin care routine was free from any harsh ingredients. Since I have been using this cleanser for the duration of my pregnancy, I can now confidently review this product after 37 weeks of use. First and foremost, I want to say that I will continue to use this product even after pregnancy! That is how much I have been enjoying my pregnant skincare regime. For reference, I have normal/dry, sensitive skin.
"Like Dolly says, 9 to 5 is quite the way to make a living. It can take its toll on the skin and leave you looking worn out. Our inventors created this one a long time ago and named it 'Orchid Oil Cleanser.' Our costumers had been crying out for a liquid cleanser, so we decided to bring (the newly renamed) 9 to 5 to the LUSH shelves. This gentle cleanser is made with almond oil, dove orchids and everlasting flower absolute to remove your leftover make up, dirt and grime at the end of a long work day." - www.lush.ca
  • Safe for sensitive skin: Treat your face to 9 to 5 after a long, hard work day.
  • Wash the day away: 9 to 5 is fantastic for taking off stubborn make up and leaves you with a fresh feeling after use.
  • Soft and gentle: The dove orchid is used in 9 to 5 to calm and soothe irritated skin.

How to Use: Take a quarter-sized amount and apply to the entire face, including the eye area, with gentle, upward, circular motions. Remove with a warm, damp face cloth or cotton pad. Follow with a balancing facial toner such as Eau Roma Water.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis), Stearic Acid, Fresh Dove Orchid Extract (Dendrobium), Everlasting Flower Absolute (Helichrysum stoechas), Ylang Ylang Absolute (Cananga Odorata), Triethanolamine, Cetearyl Alcohol, Perfume, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

Review: When it comes to cleansing the skin, I think simple is best: simple cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. If you have any problems with your skin, I suggest using a serum to target your trouble areas. This cleanser has very few ingredients, but gets the job done. It is fantastic at removing makeup and cleansing the face. As you know, I like to wear a full face of makeup quite often and this cleanser is great at removing all unwanted residue at the end of the day. It is very effective at removing, not only face makeup, but eye makeup as well. I like to apply this with my fingers in circular motions to my entire face and then go in with my Clarisonic Plus and work the product over my face with a delicate brush head. My skin is left feeling supple, not tight or uncomfortable in the slightest. The scent is pleasant and not overly powerful, like some Lush products. I highly recommend this cleanser. If you haven't tried Lush skincare before, this is a great place to start. I like to follow 9 to 5 with Lush Eau Roma Water, as my toner and Josie Maran Argan Oil Light, as my moisturizer. If I have any blemishes, Lush Grease Lightening is THE BEST targeted spot treatment I have ever used. I plan on doing full reviews on each of these skincare products in the near future. My skin has never looked so good with this regime and I think it's because I'm sticking to the basics. With sensitive skin, you really don't want to overdue it on products.

Review: When it comes to hair dryers, I'm not too picky. I've never had a hair dryer NOT serve it's purpose. The only difference between hair dryers these days is the amount of settings. Typically, I just throw on the highest fan speed and heat setting, flip my hair over and hope the job gets done at a relatively fast pace, then use the cold shot button at the end to seal in the cuticle and cool down the hair. I find newer hair dryers to be much faster at getting the job done, which is a major plus. I've had the Karmin G3 Salon Pro Professional Ionic Hair Dryer for a couple weeks now and I have to say that I like it MORE than the the previous Sedu I've been using, which I reviewed here. On my Sedu, I had to flip a switch to turn on Tourmaline Ceramic which was really annoying because I would accidentally hit the button off during hair drying. With this Karmin model, the ceramic heat technology is built in and doesn't need to be turned on or off. I don't know why you would want the option off because with it on, it is better for your hair in terms of shine, softness and dry time. I have noticed that my hair has considerably more shine and less frizz after using this hair dryer. I also like that this has 3 temperature settings instead of two. I've never used a model with 3 before, 2 has seemed to be the standard. It is nice to go to the middle setting so that I'm not using EXTREME heat or the low setting where it just isn't hot enough. There are a bunch of attachments, and a good 3 year warranty with this model. The price is the same as the Sedu if you buy from Beyas.ca AND the dryer is considerably lighter than my previous model. If you have a lot of hair to dry, you know that you don't want to be holding something bulky and heavy for too long because it gets tiresome and the weight of the Karmin is perfect.

Retail Price: $189.95 CAD on Karmin.ca or $159.95 on Beyas.ca
